Noughts and Crosses

Hey Beauts!
I used to love playing o's and x's when I was at school, it was one of those silent games that you could carefully play with your friends on a scrap piece of paper/the corner of an exercise book without the teachers noticing, and I loved the subtlety of this stamping, which made me nostalgic, lol.

So waaaaaay back in September after I got back from holiday, I was contacted by MoYou to do some reviews again, and although I managed to get some manicures and designs done as soon as they sent them, i'm only just getting around to typing them up and posting them which is terribly bad of me when a company has invested their time and money into sending me samples, so I apologise and hope that my upcoming posts for them will make up for it slightly, as well as me ordering a bunch of their stamping polishes recently and spending quite a bit of money, ha!

I started with two coats of Dollish Polish's 'Curse Your Sudden, but Inevitable Betrayal', which as you can tell was fully opaque with the two thin coats. As the majority of Dollish's do, it also dried really quickly which is always a plus, especially when you're going to be stamping over the top of it. CYSBIB is a lovely brownish mauve duochrome colour which also flashes to blue and green depending on the lighting. I spent a couple of days with this on, but couldn't decide whether i'd like the colour on its' own or not, I did however like it with the subtle stamping I did over the top of it as it gave it more oomph and funness.

One coat of Sally Hansen 'Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat' - £1.50 from Fragrance Direct
- Three coats of Dollish Polish 'Curse Your Sudden, but Inevitable Betrayal' - $5/10 from Dollish Polish
- Stamping with Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine 'Cocoa' - £3.99 from Boots/Superdrug
- Stamping plate; MoYou Nails '126' - £4.99 from MoYou Nails ***
- One coat of Glisten and Glow (HK Girl) 'Fast Drying a Super Shiny Clear Topcoat' - £6.55 from Rainbow Connection

I then used Barry M's Gelly Hi-Shine 'Cocoa' to stamp the o's & x's from MoYou's plate '126' on top, this ended up being super subtle as the colour blended in, which I liked the effect of as the light had to hit it right in order for people to notice the design! I found Cocoa to be the right consistency for stamping and it stamped really nicely and crisply.
The MoYou plate was great and the design fit my nail bed nicely, unlike some other brands which make their full designs on the small side.
