First Aid Nail Art

Hey Loves!
This design was inspired by an ECG (ElectroCardioGram) heart rate monitor screen, which records the heart's electrical activity and the BHF (British Heart Foundation) logo. I hadn't seen the certificates before hand (I did my nails on the Friday and finished my course on the Saturday), but look, they match the design in the corner! :)

Oh, and I changed my nail shape for the first time in 21 years. I thought I'd hate it, but I actually like them more and I find they look neater :).

So I've spent 6 hours for the last two Saturday's learning how to help save a child's life; using recovery positions, CPR, epi-pens, etc.
(I had to block out the signature, but since I'm too lazy right now to find a cheap way of just blurring it, I used paint :'))

I started with a base colour of Barry M 'Coconut', which is a lovely milky white gel, which became fully opaque with just two coats. It dried pretty quickly and the finish was amazing, and I think it is a really nice creamy colour! It looks a lot darker in the pictures than it actually was.

One coat of Sally Hansen 'Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat' - £1.50 from Fragrance Direct
- Two coats of Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine 'Chai' - £3.99 from Boots/Superdrug
- Design with Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine 'Pomegranate' - £3.99 from Boots/Superdrug
- One coat of Glisten and Glow (HK Girl) 'Fast Drying a Super Shiny Clear Topcoat' - £6.55 from Rainbow Connection

I then used my new nail art brush and Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine 'Pomegranate' to carefully draw in the lines and heart. I have actually done this design before (with the colours inverted), before I started my blog. The lines needed a light touch and detail brush. Pomegranate worked okay for nail art, but became quite thick and gloopey-so next time, I'll try my acrylic paints!
I was really impressed with them; the chipped pictures are from a couple of days after applying it as I needed to take a few daylight pictures for more accurate colours.
