Water Spotting!

Hi all you new lovelies!
This weekend I wrote a 3 page list of nail art techniques and designs I'd like to do at some point, here's the first one I can cross off my list :) .... Water Spotting, inspired by the OPI Black Spotted polish. WS is like a different take on Water Marbling.

I've been unable to find any spray hand sanitiser, which most of the tutorials called for. So I found another one that uses nail polish remover and a toothbrush instead, I've inserted the tutorial (not mine) that I used, for you guys to recreate if you'd like :). It's quite easy!

- 1 coat of Sally Hansen Insta-Grip Fast Dry Base Coat
- 2 coats of China Glaze 'White on White'
- Thin coat of random polishes.
          1. China Glaze 'Entourage' (Green) - £4.99 from Nail Polish Direct
          2. Color Club 'Almost Famous' (Yellow) - £7.99 for a pack of 7 CC's from TK Maxx
          3. Color Club 'Chelsea Girl' (Blue)
          4. Color Club 'Wham! Pow!' (Orange)
          5. Color Club 'Poptastic' (Pink)
- Avon 'Rapid Black' for water spots - £2.50 from Avon
- 1 coat of Seche Vite Fast Dry Top Coat
China Glaze 'White on White' is probably my favourite white polish but I found it quite difficult to find somewhere to buy it from online that shipped within the UK. It's opaque with 2 coats and goes on nicely.
(China Glaze - White On White)
(These colours are actually a LOT brighter in person than on these photos)

Okay, so mine didn't really turn out that well but I was being lazy and it was my first time. Practice makes perfect ;)

- 1 Cheap Toothbrush (I got a pack of 2 from Wilkos for 18p)
- 4 Shot Glasses.... Helps to keep the mani a bit tidier (Pack of 40 from Poundland)
- Cocktail Sticks (Pack of 6 tubs from Poundland)
- Nail Polish Remover (£1.39 from body care)
- Cellotape (Poundland)

4 shot glasses, base coat, white polish, remover, black polish, top coat, cocktail sticks & toothbrush
cellotape, nail polishes of your choice!

  1. I absolutely love this, it looks fantastic! I've always wanted to try this technique, but have had the same hand sanitiser problem as you! Can't wait to try it now!! :)
