Starting the Christmas manis, not going to have time to finish them....but might as well start ;)
Here's; 'The Griswold Family Christmas Tree' and an accent of 'Jolliest Bunch of A**holes this Side of the Nuthouse' from Dollish Polishes new 2013 Holiday Collection - 'The Griswold Family Christmas Holiday Collection'
Here's the other thermal I got from Lush Lacquer last week - Pinky Swear You're A Star. I like this one a lot more than I thought I would! Especially when i'm warm and it goes paler; you can see the glitters better!
Please excuse the state of my hands in some of the pictures! They look dreadful :(
I could not for the life of me decide on a polish to use yesterday so I asked a friend to decide for me and she chose Expecto! :) I have personally never made it through a whole Harry Potter movie, but I do own them all...bought the boxset nearly a year ago and just haven't had time to watch them or the motivation. They were the movies that were too overplayed when I was at school, xmas, summer, etc they'd always put it on on the last day.
Sorry I'm a little behind on halloween manis! I actually had a load more halloween polishes, stamps and designs planned but I've had some silly virus all week and before that I was really busy with uni :(, I guess that's what happens when you're a third year :(.
But anyways, I've been lusting after DDP's Slutty Pumpkin for months, so when I heard that Carrie was relaunching it for halloween this year and that there was a 20% off coupon, I just had to buy it :P.
So yesterday I had some fun blowing....nail polish through a straw! It got me in a real mess though as you can see from the following pics! My friends have dubbed this mani, Dexter'ed! I've never made it through a full episode but I know the premise.
I'm starting my Halloween manis now, I have a lot of polishes that are from Halloween collections and some new stamping plates. I'll probably still be using them after Halloween because I'm starting a little late :p
First up is Iconic Effect's 'Haunted House', over Avon Nailwear Pro+'s 'Divine Lime'.
Hey Lovelies! :) So I launched my etsy shop for Indy's Indies the other day, I listed my current collections: Disney, Autumn and Halloween. Minis are £4 and Full size are £6, plus P&P. I may be bias, but I really like them all :') and since it is uber autumny outside, I used Crunchy Leaves to make my nails Autumnal.
Boom! I won a set of Barry M's new Royal Textured Glitter Collection on their facebook page last week! Aren't they so pretty? :D, I personally don't like textured polishes though so i've decided to topcoat them whenever I use them, they keep their beauty but end up smooth and shiny, bonus!
If you are a UK resident, we've got some major giveaways for you!
You must be over 18 to participate unless you have your guardians permission!
Apologies for non-UKians but we are unable to ship internationally due to postage restrictions.
So not only is my own giveaway still ongoing over at Indy's Indies, here. I am also participating in a MEGA giveaway with fellow UK indie polish makers!! There are now many of us who have created a group in order to support and spam each other with our creations ;)
We have decided to officially make October UK Indie Month and therefore nearly all of us have decided to launch this giveaway in honour. We will be shipping our polishes individually to the winners in accordance with the UK postal restrictions!
Today, my hands are modelling two of Barry M's new releases; Crystal Glaze (I think this is supposed to be what BM believes to be a flakie), and Berry Cosmo (Cosmo magazines shade).
I personally do not like either. I think they tried to release too many new polishes at once and they didn't spend enough time developing the formula of Crystal Glaze. It feels to me like they've just dumped pink ice-mylar in a bunch of bottles (which I could do myself) and I'm not keen on Berry Cosmo as it's nothing different, just a plain old aubergine type colour. However, I have a few more of Barry M's new releases and so far have tried Countess (one of their new glitter textures) and I loved that.
Another autumnal beauty :) ready for my first day back at uni tomorrow :/, can't believe i'm starting my final year already!
I was a bit unsure about the Royal Textured Glitter Collection, but Countess is gorgeous and that's coming from me (the girl that despises purple!). Personally, I liked Countess without a topcoat but for durability I applied Seche Vite and boom. It was even more beautiful with a topcoat. I'm in love! Crazy.
So I've mentioned before that I've been designing my own big-3-free (occasionally big-5-free) brand of indie polishes, branded Indy's Indies (after my dog; India).
Well here's a preview for you. The release date is yet to be confirmed, but will most likely be mid to end of October. I should be confirming the release date by the end of the week, I just have to wait for my third year uni timetable to see when I'll have time to launch.
My first full collection was inspired by a bunch of Disney movies and characters, and two for autumn. II's will be available in limited quantities of mini (5ml) bottles and full size (10ml) bottles.
Unfortunately for the beginning, I'll only be able to ship within the UK as Royal Mail doesn't allow for us to ship nail polish internationally :(. If there's enough interest for a US store, I will look into it, just let me know :).
Hey Lovelies, I was going through my facebook photo albums and saw my nail album so I thought I'd share the nail art I did before setting up my blog back in May. Lengthy picture post, please excuse my bad nail care aha.
So I messed up yesterday's mani at the gym :(, so decided to do another today. I'm trying to work through my untrieds but we might be here awhile .... I'm pretty sure that i've only used about 30 of over 600 polishes.
I love to support charities of all different kinds and of course I love nail polishes, so what's better for me than a gorgeously adorable polish that helps out a charity? £2.50 from the polish goes straight to the charity 'Muffins Dream Foundation'
Oh, yeah. So whilst I was absent I was nominated for a Liebster Award by the lovely Melissa over at GlitterFists on the 26th of August, 2 days after my b'day (what a lovely belated pressie) ;). So thank you, Melissa!
So I have a really hard time picking which of my nail polishes to use each time, which means I often have naked nails. I asked my tweeps to choose a number between 1 and 578 and the first reply was '263' which is 'Ego Friendly' on my stash list :).
Last Monday (21st), I went to see Now You See Me at the cinema, and it was the best movie i'd seen in quite some time. I absolutely loved it! Kept me interested and on the edge of my seat trying to figure it out for the majority of the movie. So I attempted to do nails inspired by the advertisements and the movie. I don't particularly like them but I thought I'd post them anyway.
So I apologise for my lack of posting, I had naked nails for over a week but lots of ideas to do them. So here's my Race for Life nails that I would've done for the 14th when me and my best friend did the 5k R4L in Derby in honor of her friends mum and everyone else who has either survived, been lost or lost someone due to cancer.
So today I've got a mint mani going for the remembrance of the beautiful, inspirational Talia Joy. You may've heard of the 13-year-old girl who loved makeup and beauty, she made an appearance on the Ellen Degeneras show last September and was made an honorary CoverGirl in October 2012.
Sorry, I've hardly posted lately, I've been super busy this week! Been babysitting to make money for more nail polish ;) and I passed my second year of uni! (meaning I can reward myself with new polish) :D.
So I finally ordered a couple of the lovely Iconic Effect (a new indie brand from Scotland) polishes; Pea Soup and Princess Drops and they arrived the other day, I applied 'Pea Soup' yesterday and it's so lovely!
I ordered some new nail plates the other week from Vivid Lacquer when there was a discount code and they arrived this morning, I got three for £17.43/$25.80. Plate VL 006 is the one I really wanted for the dandelion image which I used today, my stamping is a bit crappy though. I'm not feeling great so I rushed it. The images on the VL plates are really nice sizes and they stamp really well!
Yesterday I was asked to review a couple of Nail Lacquers from SpaRitual, and they arrived this morning. Speedy! I have two polishes from their Summer 2013 Special Edition 'Laugh Collection' called Hugs and Giggle. The names alone make me smile :D.
Today we have Emily de Molly's Oceanic Forces! I finally got my sticky mitts on the gorgeous polish from Sally Magpies! Okay, it was a little pricey at £11.50 but what do you expect., they came from Australia originally and are very hard to get a hold of especially in England! This polish was DEFINITELY worth the price!!
The post is quite picture packed! So apologies!
I'm in love with this gorgeous, mysterious polish. It reminds me of the deep ocean and bubbles (:
